Metal Builders, Inc was established in 1977 by Ted Parr and Everette Matthews.  Created as a small “furnish and erect” steel company, Metal Builders has grown into a full service “design and build” general construction business.  Both owners are still active in every project we undertake today and both oversee all phases of the design process as well as all construction projects. While we still have the furnish and erect side of our business and quote to other contractors on larger projects, we work with a select group of suppliers and sub-contractors to furnish our design customers with what we believe is the best finish product possible.

After we finish the design that best fits the need, we bring in our architect and engineers to help prepare the plans in a cost effective manner. We ask you to let us help with the design of your project so that you don’t have to fit your operation into a standard building. We think it’s much better for us to fit our building around your design needs and we’ll gladly take the necessary time with business owners and church leaders in trying to do just this. The resulting buildings and satisfied customers testify that this is the right approach.

Our projects today cover the full range of commercial construction projects from warehouses to industrial projects to retail stores and shopping centers to church construction and athletic buildings. We have just completed a family life center for Cedar Shoals Baptist Church in Enoree, a strip shopping center in Boiling Springs, a fire renovation for Clay King in Spartanburg, a new retail store for Fast Cash Pawn also in Spartanburg, and are currently working on a warehouse for Oakbrook Prep School here in Spartanburg and also a car dealership in Forest City, N. C. All of these projects were designed with the owner’s assistance and constructed using plans furnished by MBI and our engineers and architect.
